Daniel Steinman serves as Co-President & COO of Black Bear Pictures.
Before joining Black Bear in January 2015, Daniel was a longtime film finance and sales agent at CAA, the entertainment and sports agency, where he specialized in packaging and arranging financing for motion picture projects and handling the sales of domestic distribution rights. Some of the more recent projects on which Daniel provided packaging, financing and sales services include IMITATION GAME, BIRDMAN, ZERO DARK THIRTY, 12 YEARS A SLAVE and BLACK SWAN.
Prior to joining CAA in 2007, Steinman was a partner in Sloss Law Office, a boutique entertainment law firm, where he represented producers, financiers, writers and directors, and negotiated the sales of finished films. Prior to Sloss Law, Daniel represented banks, private equity firms, entertainment conglomerates and others as a corporate lawyer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. And before law school, Daniel held editorial positions at Esquire Magazine, The Paris Review and Let’s Go Travel.
Steinman holds BA (English and American Literature) and JD degrees from Harvard University and resides in New York City with his wife and three children.
